The Korean-born designer Rok Hwang is the founder and designer of Rokh. He moved to Austin, Texas and grew up there. In 2004, he moved to London to attend Central Saint Martins. He earned a BA degree in menswear and an MA in womenswear. Hwang won the first prize for Central Saint Martins’ graduate collections in 2009. He worked under Phoebe Philo at Celine as a ready-to-wear designer for her debut collection. After, he worked as a freelance designer at Chole and Louis Vuitton.

In 2016, he finally launched his own brand, Rokh. Later in 2018, Hwang was the first Korean to be selected as a finalist at the LVMH Prize and received the Special Prize. Rokh is known for elegant and adaptable garments balancing of femininity and masculinity. He made a debut collection at Paris Fashion Week in Feb 2019. Rokh has over 12o stockists such as Ssense, Mytheresa, Farfetch, Lane Crawford, Net-a-Porter, and more.
