Do you not know about ‘Kimhekim’ yet?

Today, we will discover the Korean designer, Kiminte and his brand, Kimhekim. Kiminte founded his own fashion brand Kimhekim in 2014. Kimhekim represents the ancient royal family from the era of the golden kingdom. He gained experience working at the French luxury fashion house, Balenciaga. His first fashion show was held at Paris Fashion Week in 2014 and became the global fashion brand. He aims to show elegant and feminine silhouettes with floral details and sophisticated cuts. He mainly focuses on women’s clothing trying to find his own identity. He tries to express the beauty that flowers have and capture Korean aesthetic and vibes.

Spring/ Summer 2020

I will further talk about his Spring 2020 collection. The reason why I wanted to explore this specific collection is that Kiminte shows the reality of the SNS world in a very fun way. The collection also contains a little Korean sentiment because he added some garments reminding of Korean traditional costume, Hanbok. Let’s look at his collection first.

What do you guys think? I only put some that capture well of what Kiminte tries to capture. The theme of his collection is ‘attention seeker on SNS’. Do you think he well represented ‘attention seeker on SNS’? I think he did with the selfie sticks, extremely oversized silhouette, and the clothing labels. Especially, 4th, 6th, 7th, and 9th look like the Korean traditional costume. I will attach the photo of Hanbok. I am proud that more Korean designers are working in the mainstream fashion industry these days. In the future, I hope that many young designers can achieve their dreams.
